Passionate advocate, dedicated fundraiser, and generous donor, Emeritus Trustee Sofia A. Blanchard played critical roles during her 18-year tenure as Co-Founder, along with her husband, Peter P. Blanchard III, of Greenwood Gardens, a historic public garden in Short Hills, New Jersey. Before she retired from the Board of Trustees at the end of 2021, Sofia devoted tireless efforts to developing the vibrant community of Greenwood supporters that exists today. In addition to nurturing enduring relationships with supporters, she founded the first Development Committee, funded the renovation of the 1950 Main House kitchen, and was a driving force in the launch of the organization’s first long-term Strategic Plan. We are thrilled to recognize Sofia’s achievements at Greenwood Gardens, among the community she has worked so enthusiastically to bring together.
