With Thomas Guzio, Freelance Floral Designer

With 48 years’ experience creating floral designs for local flower shops and events, Thomas will demonstrate techniques using flowers from both your garden and local markets for tablescapes and placement throughout your home. A former flower shop owner in West Orange and Roseland, Thomas showcases his natural floral designs at The Emerald Garden in Springfield, Flower Power event designers in Short Hills, and Polycarp Floral Studio in Summit.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP ~ EARLY MORNING LIGHT IN THE GARDEN

Join our in-house expert on a walk through the garden to capture some of Greenwood’s most iconic locations during early morning hours, when the sun is low on the horizon and the soft light creates a magical feel. Barbara’s award-winning photography has been featured on the web pages of The Smithsonian, The Nature Conservancy, and The Weather Channel. Please bring your own camera or smartphone with which you are familiar. Special Note: this program will not cover camera settings such as shutter speed, ISO, or F-stops.

SEASONAL BOTANICALS IN WATERCOLOR AND COLORED PENCIL

With Dr. Pam Thompson, Instructor, Draw Botanical

Celebrate the start of summer in this special one-day workshop creating botanical illustrations inspired by the colorful bounty growing in the gardens! Learn special techniques using pencil and watercolor with Dr. Thompson, an expert from Draw Botanical, a leader in the botanical illustration field. In the process, find yourself connecting with nature as you learn the meditative process of illustration, resulting in vibrant, rich, drawings that leap off the page. From beginners to experienced artists, this workshop is designed for students of all levels. SUPPLIES: All supplies will be provided. Join Kathleen, a former student of our Co-founder, the late Peter P. Blanchard III, as she shares his teachings, along with her own, in this immersive sketching and journaling workshop. Spend the first one and a half hours guided by Kathleen, then feel free to spend the remaining time on your own while you tap into your creativity and imagination. Please bring your own sketch books and sketching implements.

PAINTING WORKSHOP ~ AN INTRODUCTION TO THE VISUAL LANGUAGE OF WATERCOLOR

In this workshop, you will create four compositions from a still life that Pat has created. You will explore composition, shape, value, negative and positive space, and color temperature. All levels are welcome. Suggested supply list will be shared upon registration.
