This season’s new concert series invites you to ‘Get in the Swing!’

Join us at our new series of three concerts, sponsored by Stone Mountain Properties. Each concert takes a different approach to this important musical form whose heyday during the 1920s Jazz Age coincided with the creation of the gardens and outdoor structures at Greenwood. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. when you can stroll through the garden, followed by wine and cheese on the West Terrace where the music starts at 6:30. Enjoy an hour and a half of some of the finest jazz in town in a beautiful outdoor setting!

Don Braden Quartet

Don Braden, a world-class saxophonist, flutist, and composer, takes the stage with his quartet on May 20. Braden’s jazz career has spanned four decades, and he has toured with some of the biggest names in Jazz, including Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Tony Williams, and many others. Don Braden Quartet includes Kenny Davis on bass, Jeremy Warren on drums.

Abel Mireles & LatiNext

Abel Mireles is a Mexican-American saxophonist, composer, educator and entrepreneur. His “LatiNext” project is a blend of Mexican folkloric music and jazz. The ensemble is comprised of members that share cultural influences and diversity. Through this unique project Abel explores the experience of the Mexican-American community in New York City and how its cultural influences contribute to the essence of the metropolis.

Vanessa Perea Quintet

Vanessa Perea will take the stage with her quintet, featuring Robert Edwards on trombone. Vanessa is a NYC-based jazz vocalist whose style embodies the tradition of the masters, with a beautiful sound, sweeping range, and heavy swing feel. She has performed with jazz greats including George Cables, Dwayne Burno, Pasquale Grasso, Adam Birnbaum, and many others.
